Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! We stayed home in the gorgeous 110 degree St George weather! It was a fun family holiday, the day began with begging and pleading with Marilyn to keep the red, white and blue bow in her hair for more than 2 seconds.  I knew there was exactly a 0 percent chance that it wouldn't last all day long,  and I told Marilyn it only needed to last for a few minutes while I took a few pictures.  And I got just that, a few pictures...haha here they are!

Then she started mocking me...

Then I had a brilliant idea...Marilyn LOVES Maggie, so if Maggie wears the bow, then she will want to!

...but it didn't help...

marilyn's new walking life

the grand canyon

oh my gosh, we went to the grand canyon.  i literally cannot believe i have never seen it before...but it is so.  i had no idea waht all the hype was all about, until the moment i could begin to see the view.  it was breathtaking.  we stayed the night at the jacob lake in and met jen, ryan and amelia in the morning. marilyn started walking so she was everywhere all the time (except when we were at the canyon and she was safely strapped in the stroller) it was amazing to see something new, something i never imagined could be so amazing...if you havn't been to the grand canyon, come to st george, see me and we will all go together!

Men's Shirt Makeover - CraftStylish

Men's Shirt Makeover - CraftStylish

I might be biased...

I might be biased, but I think it is natural.  My baby is the cutest baby EVER! Yesterday she found this pair of fairy wings that I have been trying to save for her first birthday party.  So then, after I got over my initial depression that my big surprise was ruined, I watched her carry those dang wings everywhere she went, all morning.  She carried them down the hall into her room, she stopped to play with some books and put the wings down next to her, then she got up and carried them back up the hallway into the kitchen and decided it was time to play with the pots and pans.  There the wings sat next to the pile of pots and lids and frying pans as she played kitchen and banged the pans together.  Then she was hungry so she brought the wings, and her bottle to me and I fed her.  Then I thought, I wonder if she will keep them on if I put them on her back.  I knew that Marilyn will absolutely not keep anything in her hair, and will barely keep her shoes and socks on, but I knew I had to try.  But to my great surprise, she LOVED LOVED LOVED them! Now, she had a free hand to play and wore those wings for another hour.  She kept looking over her shoulder making sure the wings were still on.  Seriously? Who agrees...cutest baby ever?

sand castle fun

For family night last week, we decided to go to Sand Hollow and play.  It was so hot that day so it was still nice in the evening.  Marilyn and Ayden loved playing in the sand and Jake loved making a sand castle, and then the kids LOVED jumping all over it.  It was really fun! YAY summer is here!

LOVE the sunscreen!!
