Uncle Jeff

Fall means beautiful weather but it also means that we turn into Jeff's closest relatives! When he leaves for school and moves from Orange County to Salt Lake City, we move into the roll of closest immediate family members.  It is a VERY important roll and I take it VERY seriously.  Haha so Jeff decided to come down for conference weekend.  We felt SO Lucky that he wanted to come and that he spent some quality time with us.  Marilyn couldn't get over the fact the Unca Jeff was coming to sleep at our house, and be here in the morning! It was so so so fun!

STUFF WE DID WITH UNCLE JEFF:
Watched Conference
Ate Weggies
BBQed a flank steak and smoked Baby Back Ribs (Jeff requested "Meat" for his Sunday dinner)
Made and Devoured Mashed Potatoes
Drove to Veyo to get a Veyo Pie, we chose peach from the 32 different flavors.
Hiked Jenny's Canyon
Marilyn and Jeff read a million books
Talked alot
We had apple cider floats with friends (Shout out to Hayley Yates who ran the marathon and lived!)

It is a tough roll to be the closest relative and we take it very seriously! JEFF COME AGAIN, ALWAYS!

This is Marilyn calling Grammie on her imaginary phone telling her we are with Uncle Jeff ...so cute!

It's Fall! Yay!

For a family outing one evening, we went out to Snow Canyon.  The weather has changed in St George so we are spending a lot more time outside while it is GORGEOUS! Tom found us a little hike that we could go on and it was pretty amazing.  Marilyn was a champ and walked almost the whole way! She loved throwing rocks in the water and playing "Follow Follow Daddy".  We brought Maggie and Marilyn was sure to stop and show Maggie every bug and lizard we found along the way.  Then we put Maggie first so she could scare away all the big stuff and all of the sudden we moved a lot faster!

This is the doll house Grammie got Missy for her birthday.  She still shows it to everyone who comes in (and everyone we talk to on Skype).  This is when she made the people "cook dinner" on stools like she does when she helps me make dinner.  So cute! She was so proud of this!

We also had National Park Day, and we went up to Zion.  It was so pretty up there! It has been a while since we have gone during high season so it was pretty cool to see all the different kinds of people that were visiting.  We heard a lot of different languages and a lot of people heard Marilyn's little language. Several people were chuckling on the bus on the way up and back down the canyon when she was singing at the top of her lungs "Wheels On The Bus".  She was enthusiastic!

I would like to warn you, she looks ENORMOUS in this next picture, so don't fall over or anything.

Mar Mar felt it was of the utmost importance to show the big rocks (or as she calls them "Far Far Rocks) at Zion her painted toenails!

It has been such a fun last few weeks!

Marilyn's Music Time

Before work everyday, Tom asks Marilyn to think of something they can do together when he gets home for work.  It's cute because she talks about whatever they decide on all day, and tells me she and daddy are have special time.  She comes up with ideas like take Maggie on a walk, or go to the park, or build a house out of blocks, or play play dough.  But this particular day, she came up with the idea of playing guitars and singing together.  Of course Tom jumped right on this and immediately upon his return from work, he got out the guitar and the ukulele for Missy.  This is what came out of that night.

I think we might have a bright future full of seriously off key singing, but at least it will be entertaining!
