Summer Please

We couldn't be happier that the heat is coming back.  We miss it all year long and it always springs up on us WAH BAM! It's 100 degrees, LOVE IT! We celebrated our first 100 degree day with an outing to the lake with a buddies Jake and Janelle and their kids Ayden and Aleah.  (love them)

Marilyn has always LOVED the water (except last summer when I MADE her go under and she screamed like she was dying for weeks after...) This was our first water thing this season and we wondered how Mar would react...needless to say (because this picture says it all) she was in heaven.

Miss Muff and her buddy Ayden played all day long and LOVED being able to wade in the water and play. 

I have to admit I was even surprised when she ventured up to her shoulders in the water with no life jacket on...Have no fear, we (and by we I mean Tom) was RIGHT there and she was in no danger.  Swimming lessons here we come though, any child that walks up to her shoulders in the water with absolutely no swimming experience or knowledge demands and deserves swimming lessons.

All of our outings with Jake and Tom end up with Jake and Tom making super elaborate sand castles and them telling the kids to not ruin their work and some serious attention to the beautiful structures they are creating out of the sand and then BOOM, the kids come and pounce on it...so funny. 

I mean this should be framed, right? Mandatory?

I believe this is Aleah's first time to the lake as well, look at those baby blues...Love her, she is so adorable and gorgeous!

I was getting a little tired of holding Jeff, and I was telling (ok- complaining, I'll own it) Tom and being the super handy guy he is he built this little thrown for Jeff to bask in the sunlight and enjoy the beauty.  It was amazing!

 YAY for the sun coming out and beating down on us so we get so hot and bothered in our houses that we run as fast as our buns will carry us to the closest lake or watery thing we can play in!

Happy Easter

Wow...Easter was so long ago...my bad!

Uncle Jeff came to visit us for Easter weekend, which was AWESOME!! We love us some good Uncle Jeff (aka Man Jeff) time. He rocks.

First we participated in the Cotton Tail Egg Hunt...Missy didn't quite get it, but she loved holding her bucket like a purse!

We went on a walk in Sand Hollow (on our way to Veyo Pies, because what is a trip to St George without a Veyo Pie??) Marilyn loved being able to RUN RUN RUN down the path. I liked it too because she was tired after. 

Marilyn found this TEENY TINY flower...she loved it

Marilyn turned the corner and was a little nervous that the Easter Bunny would still be there...he makes her a little nervous! But to her great joy, he was not and her basket was!

Man Jeff is a good sport...considering those glasses were made for a child!

I made Easter outfits for everyone, we all matched...Jeff's bow tie above and my shirt in these pictures...but for some reason I forgot to take pictures of all of us, which is totally HORRIBLE! But here is Marilyn's dress. 

I loved Easter, grateful we got to go to church and think about our Savior.  I am grateful for my sweet family and my brother who wants to come visit! LOVE IT!

Our Life

 Marilyn said to me "Mom, you look like me!" (I had to hide my secret hysteria, because seriously? I made her...)

We have dress up time about 7 times a day...this is when she was a butterfly!

Mom and Dad J made me this little number for my birthday! I needed some more light over my sewing machine, and obviously I needed it to be made of mason jars!!

I now rock these prescription sunglasses...best $5 I ever spent!! 

Jeff has had a ZILLION ear infections and will NOT lie down so we tried this and he loves spinning around in it...

Marilyn Loves to Dance

Marilyn's FAVORITE thing to tell people is "When I turn three, I can go to dance class!!" (my favorite part is when she says dance class her voice enters the highest register still audible to human ears.  She is so so so excited, so excited in fact she uses any and every excuse to give us all a little preview of how dance class will obviously be!!

Even though truthfully, she has no idea (other than what Angelina Ballerina tells her) of how dance class really will be...

I try my best to be an enthusiastic participant...

She will finally turn 3 in July, and you bet your bottom dollar we will be signed up and ready to begin dance class the first moment we can!

Air Show

The air show came to St George! Tom went to air shows growing up all the time and he was pretty excited to take Marilyn to see the planes! The left early in the morning with Jake and Ayden and were gone all day long. Jeff and I (and Janelle and Aleah) met them at the park at the very end. Marilyn still talks about the HUGE planes that they got to go inside them. It was a PERFECT Daddy Daughter date for them! Here are some pictures of the event!

Quite literally, this might be my favorite picture of all time! How can you fall asleep while jets are screaming past you and while you are on your Dad's shoulders...? She found a way!

I love these two...
